PORT LUDLOW VILLAGE COUNCIL

Workshop Meeting Minutes

January 15, 2008

The meeting was convened at 3:00 p.m. at the Bay Club.   Council members present were Gene Carmody, Vaughn Bradshaw, Dean Mosier, Larry Nobles, Adele Govert, Tom McCay, Jack McKay, Dan Meade, Bill Browne, and Lynn Gauché (Absent: Frank Siler).  There were also two guests in attendance.

Lynn Gauché called the meeting to order at 3:00 p.m.

With the resignation of Greg McCarry from the Board and as PLVC President, Lynn Gauché will serve as President and Larry Nobles will serve as VP. The board also recommended that Don Clark be asked to complete Greg McCarry’s term as Board Member.

Gauché informed the Council members that Workshops would be run as a discussion group responding to the topics listed in the agenda.

The first agenda item was to list Port Ludlow’s strengths and weaknesses (S/W) followed by prioritizing the goals of the PLVC Council.  Each member had developed personal lists of their S/W’s and goals prior to the meeting.  Each member explained their top three S/W’s and their three goals.  There was much duplication.  Based on the discussion, the goals were combined and the top three were examined to better understand their comprehensiveness.  The top three goals were to:

1)      Integrate and coordinate North Bay and South Bay activities.

2)      Expand the market center to include grocery and urgent care facilities.

3)      Promote and save Port Ludlow’s major amenities (golf, marina, hotel and restaurants).

Council members volunteered to prepare preliminary action plans for each of the goals.  These will be presented at the February 7 General Meeting.  The first person listed will organize meetings and/or communications needed:

1)      Adele Govert, Jack McKay, and Bill Browne

2)      Gene Carmody, Larry Nobles, and Lynn Gauché

3)      Dean Mosier, Dan Meade and Frank Siler

All agreed that they would be prepared for the February meeting.

The meeting adjourned at 4:50pm.

No motions were made and no votes taken.

Respectfully,

Bill Browne

PLVC Secretary (01/15/08)
