The workshop meeting at the Bay Club was called to order at 9:00 AM, Elizabeth Van Zonneveld, President, presiding.  All council members attended a portion of the meeting except Bert Loomis and Tony Durham. Two committee chairs attended the meeting.

  1. Trails Committee request for a letter of understanding with LMC for authority to build and maintain trails on areas of LMC Greenbelts

Sample letters were reviewed and it was decided that they would be sent to not only LMC

but also to SBCA and the South Bay Village Homeowners Associations.

2.      Public Safety concerns for Port Ludlow

This topic was put aside as the requesting Council member, Burt Loomis, was not in attendance.

3.      Financial resources and reserves of PLVC to support council activities

Discussions centered on sources of income for PLVC and the need for permanent means of income. It was agreed to post the PLVC budget on our website. There was some discussion on our liability insurance coverage for the Friday Market and Funfest. The Insurance ad-hoc committee has more work to do. Dwayne Wilcox took an action to set up another meeting of this committee with our insurance agent. It was stated that our annual expenses were about $6,000 with about a third going for elections.

It was agreed that the best way to get funds is to go to the community and ask for contributions. To do this, we would need a simple report of PLVC achievements and needs for funds

4.      Council planning and priorities for 2006-07

Tony Durham’s and Allen Panasuk’s position paper was thoroughly discussed. Bruce Schmitz offered an alternative approach. It was agreed that Tony, Allen and Bruce would attempt a rewrite and report back to the Council.

5.      Next General meeting – July 6, Beach Club 9 a.m.

The workshop adjourned at 1045 for an Executive Session, followed by a coffee/ social to meet the new Jefferson County DCD’s new Port Ludlow Lead Planner, Barbara Nightingale
